$101K - $128K a year General Summary Handi-Foil, is an industry leader in the manufacture, sale, marketing and distribution of disposable aluminum bakeware with three Chicagoland manufacturing facilities in Antioch, Naperville and Wheeling (Corporate HQ).
We have an immediate opening for a Corporate Engineering Manager, based out of our Antioch facility.
This privately held, family run company has been in business for over forty years and is experiencing strong growth year after year.
Reporting to the VP, Operations/COO, this position has responsibility and oversight to plan, design and initiate improvements to manufacturing processes for a multi-plant operation.
Manages a staff of engineers and maintenance department.
Maximizes efficiency by simplifying and automating manufacturing processes.
Analyzes the layout of equipment, workflow, and assembly methods.
Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.
Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
Applies knowledge of engineering principles to select, design and refine machinery.
Works closely with Maintenance team in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of machinery.
Ensures compliance with all industry standards for safety while meeting design standards and guidelines.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Manage a staff of engineers and maintenance department.
2.
Apply technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment.
3.
Select, design and refine machinery to improve manufacturing processes.
4.
Automate current processes to improve efficiencies.
5.
Develop SOPs and training materials for operators and maintenance personnel on the use and maintenance of new and existing equipment.
6.
Participate directly in the training and evaluation of employees.
7.
Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
8.
Ensure company compliance with all industry standards for safety and actively provides expertise and leadership to enhance safety programs and initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required 1.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering 2.
Minimum of seven to ten years of experience in a high volume manufacturing environment preferably with metal and/or plastics.
Prior experience supervising others or leading work teams.
3.
A team player who will roll up their sleeves and assist in all phases of the business.
4.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills 5.
Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency 6.
Proven ability to manage projects by application of highly developed analytical skills relating to automating and improving manufacturing processes.
7.
Knowledge and familiarity with the latest changes in machinery, equipment and automation trends.
